We got this used tricycle at a garage sale last year. Luke has been very interested in bikes lately and wanting to sit on the exercise bike that is in our bedroom right now. So we dug out this tricycle to surprise him and he loves it! He can't quite coordinate the peddles on his own. I think if his legs were just a tiny bit longer, he would have an easier time. But he thinks he's doing it, even if he is just sitting on the seat and walking with his feet saying "peddle, peddle, peddle!" Of course, now we hear fits if he can't go out and ride it "I want Bike-uh-cycle!" "Please! Bike-uh-cycle!" But it's cute to see him try to ride it and to see him being excited about it.
We took Luke and Charlotte to visit their Great Grandparents, Bunka Bob and Grandma Shimer. He took his bike so he could show them how he rides it. I was a little worried about how he would behave at their house because he hadn't had a nap and was throwing lots of fits in the morning. Luckily, he behaved very well and was a good little boy. We even went out to eat and he sat on the other side of Daddy and I hardly heard him at all. We were very impressed because you can just never tell with a 2 year old. We had a nice visit!
This morning, Amy and Colin came over to go on a kayak ride with us. Colin and Luke were pretty good in the kayaks- Colin only was standing up for a portion of the time haha. We managed to keep everyone out of the water! Then the boys ran around the backyard picking up rocks from around the front deck and running to the pier to throw them in the water. They thought it was great! They each took turns swinging, blowing bubbles, and playing baseball. They are cute together how they "talk", laugh, and giggle to each other now.
Aren't cousins great???
